Strained relationship of automotive manufacturers and suppliers improves – for now
The partnership between German automotive manufacturers and their suppliers has improved. German high-volume brands have been gaining ground since 2016, while premium brands still have room for improvement.
In 2013 and 2016 goetzpartners has asked more than 100 experts from the supplier industry in in-depth interviews about how they view cooperation with the automotive manufacturers. The current survey (2018) again showed a decline in satisfaction with premium brands. Criticism still focuses on the topics of pricing pressure and poor communication. Other results:
- Volvo in first place in the overall ranking
- 2018 vs. 2016: Jaguar/Land Rover, Opel and Volkswagen show significant improvement
- Toyota/Lexus, PSA and Fiat as tail-enders
