goetzpartners advised thyssenkrupp Marine Systems GmbH on its acquisition of selected assets from MV Werften Wismar GmbH

goetzpartners advised thyssenkrupp Marine Systems GmbH (“thyssenkrupp Marine Systems”) on the acquisition of essential assets of the insolvent MV Werften Wismar GmbH (“MV Werften Wismar”). thyssenkrupp Marine Systems is planning to manufacture submarines in Wismar in the course of 2024.

The project approach was tailored to the situation's specific circumstances of a competitive bidding process within ongoing insolvency proceedings. goetzpartners supported the client throughout the entire transaction process, from setting up and accompanying the different due diligence streams as well as evaluating potential risks to prepare communication and negotiation strategies.

The project complements goetzpartners’ extensive experience in insolvency-related transactions.

In March 2022 District Court of Schwerin has officially opened insolvency proceedings for MV Werften.
