Member of goetzpartners Advisory Board receives award for commitment to German-American economic relations

FEDERAL CROSS OF MERIT FOR FRED B. IRWIN

In a formal ceremony, Fred B. Irwin, long-term member of the goetzpartners Advisory Board and Honorary President of AmCham Germany was presented with an award for his services to German-American economic relations. Minister-President Volker Bouffier presented to Irwin the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany awarded to him by the Federal President for his extraordinary commitment to the common good.

Irwin grew up in the USA and studied at Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati College of Law in Cincinnati, Ohio. He worked for Dun & Bradstreet for eleven years at branches in the USA, Great Britain and Germany before moving to Citibank AG in 1984. He became a member of AmCham Germany in 1974, then took the helm as its President from 1991 to 2013. Irwin is also a member of the Atlantik-Brücke (Atlantic Bridge) organization and is involved with the Steuben Schurz Gesellschaft e.V. German-American friendship organization.
