goetzpartners awarded "Best of Consulting" at the consulting awards for the second time in a row

Munich, 30 October 2015 – WirtschaftsWoche awards a prize to goetzpartners – the advisory firm which focuses on strategy, M&A and transformation – as one of the best advisory firms in Germany: goetzpartners received an award for Project Excellence in the Mergers and Acquisitions, Finance and Risk Management category at the “Best of Consulting” awards. goetzpartners is among the winners of the prestigious consulting prize for the second time in a row.

goetzpartners received the "Best of Consulting 2015" award for monitoring an unusual takeover project in the financial sector: goetzpartners developed a strategy, identified a suitable bank for the takeover and supported the entire acquisition for the listed Belgian financial investor RHJ International, who wanted to concentrate on financial services as its core business. RHJI completed the takeover with the German BHF bank in early 2014 and now operates under the name BHF Kleinwort-Benson SA. The key to the success of the project was, among other things, the close cooperation between the teams from the management consulting and corporate finance departments at goetzpartners. In addition, the experienced goetzpartners advisers provided effective support in negotiations and in the drafting of contracts of sale for the transaction. The deal was the first takeover of a large German bank by a private equity consortium. As part of the transaction all jobs were preserved.

Extensive consultant check

WirtschaftsWoche has developed an extensive consultant check for the "Best of Consulting" prize which it has used annually to determine the best advisory firm in Germany since 2012. In the "Project Excellence" category a scientific advisory board and a jury judge the submitted customer projects in seven categories. The current winners were awarded their prizes at a gala event on 27 October, in the Ständehaus, Dusseldorf.
