Company endows Chair at Tongji University in Shanghai

Munich, 23th of March 2015 – goetzpartners has taken over the endowment of the Chair of "Innovation & Entrepreneurship" at the Sino-German College for Graduate Studies (CDHK) at the renowned Tongji University in Shanghai, underlining its commitment to providing consulting and advice in the field of Digital Transformation and Innovation. Companies from a huge variety of industries as well as internet start-ups can benefit from the expertise of goetzpartners consultants when developing new digital business models. The new Chair will be held by Professor Zheng Han, guest lecturer and Senior Research Fellow at the Asia Research Centre of the University of St. Gallen and the founder of "Han Executive Advisory and Development", which specializes in providing training for managers in China. goetzpartners is taking over one of a limited number of endowed chairs from Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH Investmentholding.

The company’s Head of China, Emma Zhiyu Liao is the local contact for the students and in this role also responsible for goetzpartners' Chinese-European projects.

The teaching staff at the Chair of "Innovation & Entrepreneurship" are a combination of high-caliber academics and experienced experts from industry and business. The three basic principles of this Chair are cooperation, practical orientation and variety. The high-quality teaching and the projects on offer enable the students to acquire and implement management knowledge from the fields of innovation, entrepreneurship and strategic marketing, providing targeted preparation for their working lives.

Set up jointly by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and Tongji University in 1998, the Sino-German College for Graduate Studies (CDHK), with 25 Chairs endowed by German companies, has been the two countries' most successful academic exchange project. At the CDHK, over a period of two to three years, students from all over China complete Masters degrees in the Faculties of Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Studies and Economics (with Business Law). For several years now, the number of German students at the CDHK has been rising, too. The close relationship between academia and industry guarantees a practice and problem-oriented education at CDHK.
