Why goetzpartners?

goetzpartners is one of the largest pan-European corporate advisory firms in Europe but one that operates on a global scale. This was an important factor when deciding to join the firm as it’s increasingly important to have deep local market access and insight when advising clients on M&A situations. What I have appreciated greatly over the past couple of years is the firm’s ability to operate seamlessly across all our offices, something that is not always the case in many other firms. We are able to do this because of our strong culture and commitment to prioritising our clients interest.

My personal development

By background I am half French and half English. I graduated with a Bsc in Physics from Imperial College before graduating from an MSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics. My career started at Deutsche Bank in 2000 where I was an analyst in the TMT M&A Group in the London office. In 2002 I joined Greenhill & Co where I subsequently became Vice President. At Greenhill I did of both private and public UK deals covering a number of sectors but with a strong focus on Media.  Today I cover the digital media space out of our London office, which in my view is one of the most dynamic and exciting M&A sectors at the moment.

My most challenging project

In general I would say all advisory roles tend to have a number of challenging aspects which makes being a Corporate Finance advisor interesting. Typically the most difficult situations often arise when dealing directly with owner managed businesses as they tend to have emotional attachments to their businesses. However, from a personal perspective I prefer working with these types of clients as there is a greater opportunity to provide real value to them, particularly on sell side advisory roles.

My interests

I enjoy traveling when I have some time off; having lived in the past in China, France, UK and the United States. I am probably best known for my enthusiasm for tennis and motorsports – particularly Formula 1!

A few additional words
