We also organize sports events like the “goetzpartners Ironman” and make commitments to social and ecological issues, and our annual team-building event takes us to the sunny south. WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

We at goetzpartners differentiate ourselves from other consultants with our focus on the key business issues of strategy, M&A and transformation. But above all else we are a team of individuals, each of whom has a character that leaves an imprint on the company. And then there’s our corporate culture which enables these individuals to develop to the full.

Corporate Finance and Management Consulting

goetzpartners resolves the key strategic issues facing a CEO. Our management consultants primarily deal with matters of strategy and transformation. The topic of mergers & acquisitions is handled by our investment bankers. Colleagues from corporate finance and management consulting work closely together in the respective industry teams and take advantage of their complementary industry expertise.

Pioneering spirit and entrepreneurialism

Our two founders, Dr. Stephan Goetz and Stefan Sanktjohanser, left their imprint on the company. Even though we are now an established consultancy, we have not lost this pioneering spirit. Entrepreneurialism is a key element in the way we think at goetzpartners because many of our management team have run businesses themselves.

Empathetic and responsible

We listen to what our clients tell us so that we can precisely understand them and come up with the best solution for them. And our young company is a little old fashioned in this respect, in that we embody a sense of European entrepreneurship and we value quality, reliability and efficiency.

Inventive and passionate

People who work at goetzpartners are genuine individuals with a passion for consulting. Edgy and interesting, they are not like most other consultants. The enriching spirit of partnership in which they work gives rise to an inspiring atmosphere and, ultimately, solutions that are more inventive than the rest.

Independent and spirited

The independence of goetzpartners affords our company flexibility and the ability to advise clients in their best interests at all times. We advise our clients from a position of parity and we advocate our position with confidence. We don’t take no for an answer.

Excellence and results

goetzpartners consultants work systematically and methodically. Yet our approach is anything but “copy & paste”. We have our sights set on improving our clients’ overall business situation – not just individual functions or branches of the business. We strive to deliver real business results and we advise and support our clients until the planned goal and outcome has been achieved.

WHY GOETZPARTNERS?

After two challenging but fun days at the highfliers' event in the mountains, my gut reaction was that joining goetzpartners was the right decision. I could see goetzpartners’ people were open, agreeable, and highly competent, and that I could anticipate stimulating, demanding projects.

MY PERSONAL BACKGROUND

After obtaining a bachelor's in economics at the universities of Frankfurt and Ankara, and a master's in economics at Mannheim and Göteborg, I knew consulting was the right field in which to start my career. Various internships in the world of consulting during my studies corroborated this. I also did a lot of voluntary work with the student organization SIFE Mannheim (now Enactus), which uses entrepreneurial action to help provide opportunities to those in need. I'm able to pursue that passion at goetzpartners too: along with colleagues, I provide help to Munich secondary school students intending to transition into training.

MY MOST CHALLENGING PROJECT

Providing support for a change process at a major German energy provider which was facing the challenge of renewable energy: Along with implementation of various measures, the project involved change management in particular, i.e. support for senior managers and employees during the changes. This combination of "hard" and "soft" made the project especially attractive.

WHAT INSPIRES ME

Literature (e.g. the novels of Charlotte Link), sports (handball and mountain biking), culture (travel and theater). Also the simple pleasures of spending time with family and friends.

A FEW ADDITIONAL WORDS

As a student, I put emphasis on being involved in valuable activities, rather than succumbing to the dogma of obtaining one's degree as fast as possible. I believe it's important to gain practical experience first, through internships, periods spent abroad and non-profit work, to allow oneself scope to develop one's personality.

Alexander Reinhold, Manager, Management Consultants

WHY GOETZPARTNERS?

My decision to join goetzpartners was quite spontaneous and sparked by a gut feeling after attending a 2-day recruitment event. I remember being very impressed by the unpretentious, honest and direct manner in which the company representatives spoke with one another and with the applicants – and the people at goetzpartners confirm to me every day that I made the right decision. Even in the most stressful project phases, all the colleagues keep their positive attitude and, above all, their sense of humour.

MY PERSONAL BACKGROUND

After my studies (M.A. in Politics and Economics at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland and MEB at the ESCP Europe), I decided to move to the field of consulting. Various internships during my studies gave me the chance to further develop my professional and personal skills and allowed me to identify with the clear focus on results and great team spirit – which I have been experiencing first hand since the end of 2007.

MY MOST CHALLENGING PROJECT

The reorganisation of an Asian solar payer was a particularly challenging and exciting project for me. In the run-up to this, we supported and accompanied the strategic reorientation with a stronger focus on regional markets. The adjustment of the organisational structure was followed by implementation of certain measures – and I was confronted with a wide range of challenges related to content and culture: clear organisational structures needed to be developed for a team of 30 customer employees in the US, China and Europe. Working with the customer, we succeeded in creating an effective and global organisation that will lay the foundation for further growth.

WHAT INSPIRES ME

Blue skies and powder snow in the winter, blue skies and crisp mountain bike trails in the summer. Spending free time with good friends.

A FEW ADDITIONAL WORDS

To quote a customer, who put things very aptly and succinctly: “I don‘t need to have fun working with consultants, I just have to be able to respect their work. With goetzpartners, I can actually have both.”

Sebastian Hager, Senior Manager, Management Consultants

WHY GOETZPARTNERS?

I got to know goetzpartners at a joint workshop organized by the student consulting service. At the time, I appreciated the very open and friendly manner in which the consultants spoke with the students, which is why I applied to the company once I finished my studies. Today, I carry out workshops myself at universities and try to communicate to the students what sets goetzpartners apart from other companies: primarily the friendly environment in which colleagues work with one another and the opportunity make your mark regardless of where you are in the corporate hierarchy.

MY PERSONAL BACKGROUND

When I graduated from school and finished my period of civilian service, I had the idea that I wanted to work in event management. At the time, a course in Business Management seemed to be a good place to start. During my studies in Bayreuth, I became familiar with the student consulting initiative “Junior Beratung Bayreuth” and decided that consulting was what I wanted to do. Working for the JBB gave me my first experience of consulting, while also actively introducing me to the world of enterprise. In addition to this, I completed two classic industry internships and spent a semester studying in the USA.

MY MOST CHALLENGING PROJECT

Over the course of the financial crisis, we received an order from a medium-sized automobile supplier. The financing banks expected a neutral assessment on the economic situation of the supplier and its sustainability. Projects in such a restructuring environment are characterized by long working hours and intensive input, as, being a consultant, you feel directly responsible for the company and the employees with whom you work on site.

WHAT INSPIRES ME

In my professional and private life, I am a fanatic when it comes to cars and the car industry. My personal preference is, however, older cars (classics and modern classics).

A FEW ADDITIONAL WORDS

My advice to any student interested in working in corporate consulting: you don't get there through study alone. It is more important to use the time sensibly and to gather as much experience as possible – through internships, periods abroad or commitments at university.

Tanja Berg, Analyst, Corporate Finance

WHY GOETZPARTNERS?

Crucial to my decision was the personal impression I gained during the recruitment process. The open and friendly nature of the persons interviewing me was key.

MY PERSONAL BACKGROUND

After completing my bachelor's degree, I was working in the Controlling department of a construction and services company for one year. However, I quickly realised that my interests are more in the area of finance. So I decided to obtain a master's degree in business administration, with a specialisation in finance, at the University of Mannheim. After completing internships in investment banking and private equity I was keen to get a foothold in one of those areas.

MY MOST CHALLENGING PROJECT

At the moment I'm working on an interesting carve-out project with the goal to sell one individual plant of a major industrial group. The challenge is to find a buyer with the right market know-how who'll be able to build up the currently missing sales function.

WHAT INSPIRES ME

The individual nature of each project challenges you every time to learn new things which makes working at goetzpartners very interesting. In my spare time I like to discover the surroundings of Munich with its lakes and mountains. In the winter I go for skiing, in the summer for hiking and climbing!

A FEW ADDITIONAL WORDS

According to Aristotle, 'Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work.' Working here is certainly a pleasure.

Andreas Hering, Associate, Corporate Finance

WHY GOETZPARTNERS?

For me, the decision to join goetzpartners was a culmination of several factors, and I would make the exact same decision today. These factors include the focus of goetzpartners, its size and orientation towards medium-sized transactions, which is increasingly leaning towards larger transactions, and the people that make goetzpartners the company it is. Another crucial factor for me was the chance to work and live in one of the most beautiful cities in Germany, Munich.

MY PERSONAL BACKGROUND

After I graduated from Business Management in Mannheim, I completed a few internships in sectors that had nothing to do with investment banking before commencing work as an intern at goetzpartners Corporate Finance. I was then offered a position as an analyst. After 3 exciting years in this role, I was promoted to the position of associate in the last year. I was subsequently given the opportunity to move to the London office to provide on-site assistance in its expansion – it was a tremendous opportunity to be able to work within the company for a year in London – anyone who is offered such an opportunity should take it.

MY MOST CHALLENGING PROJECT

I have had quite a few challenging projects, as the projects at goetzpartners Corporate Finance are anything but stereotypical. If I had to select one, however, then I would say the sale of three sites/subsidiaries (2 German sites and 1 Italian one) of a Dutch-US machine construction global leader in ownership of a Polish PE fund, to an American industrial holding. The sale was initiated by the Federal Cartel Authority. Managing these different cultures under the supervision of the Federal Cartel Authority was definitely one of my most challenging projects at goetzpartners.

WHAT INSPIRES ME

Having a varied daily routine and being able to exchange ideas with the highest decision makers. At the same time, I also enjoy the working environment at goetzpartners, which is characterized by a friendly atmosphere where the strengths of each and every employee are appreciated and encouraged, and where employees are given free reign to further develop their abilities in their area of specialization.

A FEW ADDITIONAL WORDS

If you are looking for a chance to be more than just a small cog in a big machine, or for an employer that not only encourages and supports you, but also appreciates a human approach to the development of working relationships with colleagues, then goetzpartners is what you are looking for.

Stephan Tan, Associate Director, Corporate Finance

WHY GOETZPARTNERS?

goetzpartners offers a positive environment where you can combine target oriented work and a sense of enjoyment. It's precisely that mix of hard work and relaxed interaction between colleagues that, for me, makes goetzpartners different from other companies.

MY PERSONAL BACKGROUND

I discovered my interest in corporate finance as a student of business administration and Chinese studies in Frankfurt and Beijing. I broadened my experience in M&A as a university teaching assistant and during various internships. After completing my studies I started in M&A at Citigroup. Following this very instructive period, I decided to take the next step by joining goetzpartners.

MY MOST CHALLENGING PROJECT

Every project has its own individual facets, which are often challenging and allow you to grow professionally. If I had to single one out, it would be the sale of an asset management company where many of the people selling the company were involved. There had to be a very high level of coordination and process management.

WHAT INSPIRES ME

At work, I'm inspired by exciting, complex problems, elegant models and lean solutions. In my spare time I'm interested in virtually any kind of sport, good food and a decent game of chess.

A FEW ADDITIONAL WORDS

goetzpartners offers the right platform to allow you to learn, take responsibility quickly, and make contributions.
