The "green gp" project was launched in 2008 in order to contribute to the equalization of our company's CO2 emissions and to sharpen our awareness of our natural resources. Therefore, goetzpartners didn’t want to "just" offer funding, but to experience what damages the unconscious dealing with nature may cause and to contribute sustainably to its preservation. "green gp" is based on a tool that calculates our CO2 emissions in Europe and fundamentally estimates how many trees have to be planted annually to counterbalance our CO2 usage in the long run. Since 2008, the planting projects have been planned and organised together with Bergwaldprojekt e.V. The projects do not only consider CO2 emissions and climate protection, but also the maintaining of the numerous protective functions of our woods for clean air, drinking water and diversity of species. Up to now, we have planted 1.500 white firs in Balderschwang (Allgäu, 2008) and 2.200 white firs in Oberammergau (upper Bavaria, 2009 and 2010). For the families of our colleagues, we have offered a special program for kids ("explore and experience nature") supported by experienced Bergwaldprojekt colleagues. The next tree planting will happen in 2011.
