Angkor Center for Conservation of Biodiversity

The ACCB aspires to become a focal point for wildlife conservation and environmental activities throughout the northwest of Cambodia. The core of this project is conservation breeding and, in the long-term, the re-introduction and/or re-stocking of certain highly endangered species found in Cambodia. Furthermore, local inhabitants are given the knowledge and opportunity to assist in environmental conservation and management, as well as participating in environmental education which focuses on local and regional conservation problems. For specific target groups (communities, students, tourists) awareness programs have been developed. Accompanying wildlife conversation and research activities in the region are supported and initiated. In 2003, goetzpartners helped to start the project by donating a significant amount of money sufficient to build the entire premises and fund its start-up operation. Since then, the company is the major financial supporter of the project. For further information, please refer to http://www.accb-cambodia.org
